DISCUSS! Visitor pressure in cities only a problem when tourism is not economically important

The Centre of Expertise of Leisure, Tourism Hospitality is doing research on the increasing strain that tourists put on the cities they visit (e.g. overcrowding, noise) and the residents that live there.

We want you to get involved and assist in the discussion!!! To do so, we will regularly pose a thesis for you to respond to. In this case the thesis is:

"The discussion with regards to visitor pressure is only visible in cities where tourism is not important for employment and the local economy"

Do you agree with this thesis? Or is it completely untrue? If so, in what cities can the discussion with regards to visitor pressure be heard and why there?
